Bazaar Kita 2021

In an initiative with Wisma Geylang Serai, The Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) launched Bazaar Kita, a one-stop Ramadan portal, on 9 April 2021. Established to reignite the nostalgic atmosphere that comes with the familiarity of the Ramadan Bazaars that the local community know of, the Bazaar Kita portal features retail and F&B options (both pre-ordered and ready-to-eat meals), live performances, charity donations and more.

The project successfully onboarded more than 120 merchants into the online portal.

SGUnited Buka Puasa Initiative 2020

The SGUnited Buka Puasa Initiative was a community ground-up effort to provide daily free meals for Buka Puasa during Ramadan to Malay Muslim families in need and to healthcare workers and their families. Jointly organized by RLAF, MUIS, Mosques, Peoples’ Association, Roses of Peace and SMCCI, the initiative was supported by SGUnited, M3 and SGTeguhBersatu Taskforce.

The initiative successfully distributed 224,911 food packs via 20 community clubs, 13 hospitals, 4 SCDF HQs.

Hari Raya Treats for Migrant Workers 2020

When the pandemic hit, Singapore saw its largest numbers resulted by the rising cases in the migrant workers’ dormitories. As a significant number of these workers are Muslims, being on lock down during Ramadan and Raya was hard. The Chamber, together with Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM) took the initiative to bring the Raya spirit to the dorms during the blessed month, and we successfully distributed 211,310 packets of cookies for Hari Raya to 74 foreign worker dorms and construction quarters.
